Every Friday night Jan toasts crumpets on the fire and serves them with butter, they are 20p each and all the money goes into what we call The Crumpet Bottle.
When the bottle gets a bit heavy all the money is donated to a local good cause. Recently £362. was donated to The Pasture Lane Appeal.
Another fundraiser is the BONUS BALL LOTTERY which raises £9. per week, last year the proceeds enabled Jan to take a group of local senior citizens on a day trip to the Cotswolds. Incidentally every week someone wins £40. (i've won it twice).
Many of the locals indulge in covert activities such as DARTS, DOMINOES and CRIBBAGE some of them even form teams and join leagues to play other pubs. Believe it or not they actually have 4 darts teams. Will all this excitement never end.
